    Acknowledgements

I would like to thank Prof. Eleonore Kofman, mentor of our project. I learned a lot from her at the Gender, Justice and Security UKRI GCRF Hub based at LSE while we were co-investigating the Gendered Dynamics of Labour Migration within the Migration and Displacement Stream.

This project is partly derived from the previous project and the original title of our project was Gendered Dynamics of Skilled Migrant Women's Labour Migration and Experiences of Urban Life in Istanbul, however, at the end of our research process, we decided to name it Transnational Urbanism and Practices of Everyday Life of Skilled Migrants in Istanbul

This change is due to the fact that our project covers not only labour migration but also many other types of migration such as forced, lifestyle, retirement, transient and so on; that it includes all gender identities; that we include not only gender dynamics but also race, ethnicity, nation-based hierarchies and discrimination stories; and that we present an example of transnational urbanism and everyday life studies.

You can also listen to a brief conversation in Turkish about our project on the Açık Mimarlık podcast hosted by Yağmur Yıldırım on Spotify.
